Choking smog

Kochi is slowly turning into an environmentalist's nightmare. The car boom, due to man's unending love affair with automobiles, has polluted and crammed the city. Car exhaust, multiplying in proportion with our passion for anything on wheels, is blanketing the city with thick smog. The fumes get trapped among the mushrooming tall buildings. Are we moving into the dark ages?

Industrialization and economic growth are essential for any country. But there should be measures to control negative outcomes of industrialization and automobile population. Unless we act now we will be subject to respiratory diseases and other related ailments. We can plant trees in our neighborhood which can consume most of these emissions, and try to bring people together to force the government to enforce rules to curb pollution from the industries, otherwise Kochi will soon among the most polluted cities in India.

Great!! To add with Vipin's comment. It is the responsibility of all to take care of the environment neat and clean and to protect plants. But when industry and population grows, there will be scarcity for land and people will cut off the trees, fills paddy lands and lagoons with soil, to make new flats and houses, which arises the pollution and food scarcity. When there is industrialization, there will be more invading people than the local people as chance of getting jobs are more. But who will control these?
